In Transit: Paris to Saint Jean Pied de Port

At long last, we’re headed to our Camino “trail-head,” Saint Jean Pied de Port. While Paris was enjoyable, it’s definitely time to get down to the business of walking this damn trail!

Weather forecasts, however, are not very encouraging. Mostly, we have a 80-95% chance of rain through Sunday in the Pyrenees region. I guess we’ll have a chance to break in the Frog Toggs (rain-suits) right away. Kind of apprehensive about the up-and-over transit of the Pyrenees tomorrow as we will attempt to complete a 25.1km (15.6 mile) hike with a 1450m ascent – all in one day! This is totally doable, but may take a bit longer depending on trail conditions.

For now, we leave you with some highlights from our day and a half in Paris. Didn’t have too much time to explore, but clocked in about 30 miles just walking around the city. Buen Camino!
